Risky Business: John Harris, Jim VandeHei, and <i>Politico</i> Part A

These two stand-alone cases examine separate aspects of the hybrid print/online political news outlet Politico. In Part A, students are taken behind the scenes and into the minds of two journalism entrepreneurs. Students can debate the pros and cons of leaving mainstream journalism outlets to start new operations.

This case can be used alone, or in combination with Part B: A Winning Model. The two parts can be taught together, or in successive class sessions.
